Arthur Rosenblatt AR’52

Arthur Rosenblatt AR’52 served as CUAA Class Representative, CUAA Council Member, CUAA President, and CUAA Alumni Trustee.  He also served on the Cooper Union President’s Advisory Council .  He was CUAA President in 1977 and 79.

Following his graduation from The Cooper Union, he served in the US Army.  He went on to study architecture at Carnegie Mellon University where he received his B.A. in Architecture in 1956.

He is famous for his work designing museums.  He helped reshape the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City and he helped shape the US Holocaust Museum in Washington, DC where he served as director from 1986 to 1988.  He was also involved with the restoration of New York Public Library and Bryant Park.

He received the Cooper Union Presidential Citation in 1967 and the CUAA Saint-Gaudens Medal in 1983.  He was inducted into The Cooper Union Alumni Hall of Fame in 2009.
