Bio

Xenia is a public art administrator always looking forward to learning how to instigate and strengthen opportunities for artists and designers to creatively serve NYC. As a Deputy Director of Public Art & Design Initiatives for the NYC Department of Design and Construction, she is a Liaison for the Department of Cultural Affairs Percent for Art Program and works with emerging and established artists to execute over 40 completed permanent public art projects and 30 projects underway. Xenia is a steering committee member of NYCxDesign, New York City’s official annual citywide celebration of design and worked to help launch “Built/NYC” a pilot program funded by City Council to commission local industrial designers for NYC agencies. She is a Coro LNY25 alum, a civic leadership program in which participants from the public, private, and nonprofit sectors study the economic, social, and political factors that influence decision ­making in New York City.  She was a 2012 Create Change Professional Development Fellow with The Laundromat Project and served on its 2013 Artist + Community Council. Xenia is currently a second term CUAA Alumni Council Member (2010-­2016) and co­-chairing the Augustus Saint Gaudens Award for Art Committee for a third year.
