For three evenings in mid-March, 37 volunteers — alumni, parents, students, and trustees — gathered on campus for the annual Phonathon to benefit the Annual Fund. Callers shared their personal Cooper experiences with fellow alumni, updated them on the latest school news, listened to concerns, and answered questions. Over $17,000 was raised in credit card donations, plus about $25,000 in pledges, from 91 generous Cooper alumni and parents. The Annual Fund Committee wishes to thank the volunteers and the donors for supporting Cooper Union, as well as the Office of Alumni Affairs and Development for organizing the event.

“The tradition of Phonathon is a vital example of how members of the Cooper community can work together to build trust in each other, as well as faith in the future of the institution,” commented Acting President Bill Mea. “As the Free Education Committee works to identify a financial path toward full-tuition scholarships, we all can begin building a foundation of increased participation in giving, one that honors and supports the educational values alumni hold dear. We are grateful to all who participated in this year’s Phonathon as callers and donors, as well as to the CUAA for sponsoring and helping organize the campaign.”
