Thomas Nozkowski A’67, was a fine artist. He began exhibiting in group shows in 1973 and made his solo debut in 1979.

By 1982, the Museum of Modern Art, New York, had acquired a painting from an early one-person exhibition for their permanent collection.

To date, Nozkowski’s paintings have been featured in more than 300 museum and gallery exhibitions worldwide, including over 80 solo shows.

He was a member of the American Academy of Arts and Letters.   He received many awards: a Guggenheim grant in 1993,The National Endowment for the Arts in 1984,The American Academy Award of Merit for Painting in 2006 among others.

He was a Professor of Painting at Rutgers University.

Thomas received the Cooper Union Presidential Citation in 2008 and was inducted into The Cooper Union Hall of Fame in 2009.

He was married to Joyce Robins A’66. He died May 9, 2019.
