RINGWOOD MANOR TURKEY ROAST

 

Join  fellow alumni, and host Don Wade, EE ‘63, for a turkey roasted over an open fire and all the trimmings at Ringwood State Park, the grounds of Ringwood Manor, past home of Peter Cooper’s son in law, Abram Hewitt.   Come for just dinner (around 2:30pm) or come earlier and spend the day hiking in Ringwood State Park.

Ringwood State Park is located in the Ramapo Mountains of Northwest New Jersey, just south of Sloatsburg, NY. Easily accessible by car (“Sloatsburg/Suffern” exit 15A of NYS Thruway). We will try to arrange rides if we can, please indicate ride information below.  The shelter is located within the park about 1/2 mile from the parking lot. We will mail complete directions and a map when we get your reservation.

Cost for this delightful day is $17.00 (same as the last 8 years). This pays for the cost of the food and the fees charged by the park.We must have your reservation in advance so we can buy food. This annual event is run at the CUHC shelter, through the Sierra Club, by a bunch of Cooper Alums who still remember when it was Green Camp.

We will supply a turkey roasted over an open fire and all the other  stuff that goes with it; you can come just for dinner (around 2:30) or  come earlier and hike around before dinner.  We go rain or shine since the food  will already be bought.  **Advance Reservations are absolutely required and must be received by Nov. 21.**  Include the $17 per person cost,  your phone number and E-mail address, and a self-addressed envelope (so  we can send you exact directions).  Also indicate if you can give or need a ride.  Workers who arrive in the morning to help are especially needed & welcome and get a reduced rate.  Vegetarians,  helpers or those with questions should call the leader.  Leader: Don  Wade, 35-41 72nd Street, Jackson Heights, N.Y. 11372; 718-426-8555  (leave a message if out).  E-mail: <DonWade@donwade.us>
