Joint Student Council Circulates Petition Requesting the B.O.T. Not Renew President Bharucha’s Contract

One representative from the Joint Student Council explained the petition:

“The Joint Student Council discussed creating a document to be sent to the Board of Trustees providing student opinions of President Bharucha. The petition was created by a few members of the Student Council.  It states that President Bharucha has shown a lack of leadership and it requests that the board not renew the president’s contract and begin a presidential search. Over 80% of the student body signed the petition within a week of it’s release, for reasons ranging from having little contact with him, to believing him being a detrimental part of the community.  Students wish to encourage the board to consider other candidates, and also want to be a part of the process in picking the next president.”
