Patrick Girvin AR’88

Running for: Nominating Committee

Campaign Statement

As President Sparks pushes Cooper Union back toward entirely tuition free, it is important that we reflect on Peter Cooper’s vision for the institution. The school embodied his belief in free education for all; a place where art and science could be advanced so that the greater community would be enriched.  Each generation of students, teachers and administrators are challenged to reinterpret this incredible legacy in light of current culture and practical circumstance.  As alumni, we are called to support and defend this vision in collaboration with the school.

I am honored to have been nominated for this position.  I hope to serve and support The Cooper Union and help advance its important and visionary mission.
