Karen is the co-leader of Wind Power New York City, a research consortium she co-established at Pratt Institute to focus on the cultural and design implications of offshore wind power in New York City in response to New York Governor Cuomo’s pledge in July 2019 to build 9,000 megawatts of wind power development directly off the coast of New York over the next 15 years. It will be one of the largest new generation offshore wind farms in the world supporting a manufacturing base located in New York City.
