Jack Greenberg CE’11 Presenting to Engineering Students at STV Office in NYC

On 9/22/2015, 23 students from the Cooper Union ASCE chapter walked to STV’s NYC office on Union Square, to learn about the work of a design engineer in the construction industry. The tour was hosted by Jack Greenberg CE ‘11 and Karen Yeh EE ‘02. The event started with a short presentation about the various projects they’ve worked on. There was also a Q & A session with the students. Projects discussed ranged in breadth and scope from the relatively small Manhattanville Bus Depot façade repair to the PATH Hub mega-project at World Trade Center. Flood mitigation is an increasingly important market since Hurricane Sandy and was highlighted through projects at the Coney Island Rail Yard and Hoboken Terminal and Rail Yards. There might not have been enough club hours for Jack and Karen to get to everyone’s questions, but they made sure there was enough for an STV sponsored pizza lunch and a quick office tour. The event was a success and will likely be the start of an annual meet up at STV.
