William Sandholm CE’63 was born in Brooklyn in 1942. He attended Brooklyn Technical High School, the Cooper Union, and Pace University. He graduated from the Cooper Union school of Engineering in 1963 with a Civil Engineering degree. He spent his full career with the real estate company, Rose Associates, eventually becoming the CEO. While with Rose Associates, Bill led successful development projects and management assignments in NYC, Boston and Washington, DC. He retired in 2012. He also served as a member of the Finance, Insurance & Real Estate Sector Group (a former sector of the New York City Investment Fund),
He was a member of the Cooper Union Board of Trustees from 1996 through 2011 and was the CUAA Alumnus of the Year in 2005. He was a major benefactor of the school. He was inducted into the Cooper Union Lifetime Giving Society in September, 2019.
