REUNION 2022

The classes of 1937, 1942, 1947, 1952, 1962, 1967, 1972, 1977, 1982, 1987, 1992, 1997, 2002, 2007, 2012, and 2017 are celebrating milestone class anniversaries this year. Alumni who celebrated milestone class anniversaries during the 2 previous years where there were no in-person celebrations are also being recognized at this year’s Reunion celebration. Alumni from all years are invited to attend.
Annual Fund Update
A brief summary of the CU Financial Monitor Report by Mariam Cantelmi AR’95, Chair of the Annual Fund, and Lou Manzione ChE’75, Alumni Trustee, shows continued progress toward the plan to return to full-tuition scholarships (find their summary with a link to the Financial Monitor’s full 2022 report.
Green Camp Film from the CU Archives is now on-line
A silent film produced by The Cooper Union and its students documenting time spent by students at the college’s former rural campus, Green Camp, during the 1950s has been recently digitalized and made available on-line. The former Green Camp is now part of Ringwood State Park in New Jersey. The exact dates of the film segments are unknown, but scenes include fall, winter and spring events filmed during the 1950s. The film begins with a scene that we believe features Gano Dunn when he was the engineering dean.

The CU School of Humanities offers Lectures Open to Alumni
The School of Humanities & Social Sciences (HSS) has an on-going lecture series around the theme of intersectional justice that is open to the whole Cooper community. Upcoming lectures include one on April 7th and another on April 15th. For more information see the HSS Web Page.

Exhibitions
4/7 – 4/29/2022 – Architecture Photo Exhibit in the Foundation Building Third Floor Hallway Gallery. Lyrical Urbanism: The Taipei Music Center
The Taipei Music Center was designed by Cooper alumni Jesse Reiser AR’81 and Nanako Umemoto AR’83. In advance of the exhibition opening, a lecture, panel discussion, and musical performance will be held in Cooper Union’s Great Hall at 6:30 pm on April 6, 2022.
4/7 – 4/29/2022 – Architecture exhibit with works by both alumni and students in the Arthur Houghton Gallery. Conceiving the Plan: Nuance and Intimacy in the Construction of Civic Space
For this exhibition, architects, former students, colleagues, and friends have generated projects for civic space employing Diane Lewis’ best known ideas and methods. A daylong symposium titled Nuance and Intimacy in Civic Space will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2022, at The Cooper Union.
