The Cooper Union Climate Initiative (CUCI), an alumni affinity group, will be holding its third Careers in Climate Event from noon to 2pm on September 24th, during Cooper’s Club Hours (when all students are free from classes), and in the midst of NYC’s Annual Climate Week.

The event will be held in the Rose Auditorium at 41 Cooper Square and there is enough seating to accommodate all alumni who wish to attend.  A livestream is also available.  To register for either the in-person or livestream event please click on the following link: Register Here.

The event has a terrific young panel, all of whom have graduated in the past 15 years and all of whom are in climate related jobs.  The moderator is Kit Nicholls, the Director of the Cooper Union Center for Writing and Learning.  Keynote remarks will be delivered by Professor Amanda Simson of the Department of Chemical Engineering, who is returning from maternity leave and will spur the return of The Student Climate Coalition, a group she helped found prior to the COVID epidemic.

The speakers include:

  • David Berger (CE’09), a Senior Consultant in the Energy Efficiency group at Eversource Energy,
  • Anna Kramer (CE’14), a Climate Practitioner who founded a boutique consulting firm, URBANSEA.
  • Lisa Liu, (ChE’13), a Senior Project Manager of Development at NextEra Energy, and
  • Caitlin Martusewicz, (AR’11), a Partner at Cycle Architecture, a firm focused on matters of energy efficiency, urban research, and public interest.

The Event is organized by CUCI’s Marshall Rafal (ChE’63) and Lynn Lander (ChE’60) in collaboration with The Center for Career Development.

Food will be available at 12:00pm.
The panel will begin at 12:20pm.

We look forward to seeing you there!
