Running For: Council

Campaign Statement

After some time away to focus on the mission at littleBits, I am excited to return to the CUAA and engage our Cooper Union community.  I have come to appreciate the importance of mission, community, and talent in its combined ability to build support for innovation.

Cooper Union has all three.  I am passionate to not only help organize alums and current students to engage each other, but also external communities to help extend the reach of our alma mater.  In our journey to return Cooper Union back to full tuition scholarships, I hope programs we develop as alumni can move to enrich the institution and its students alike.

Dennis is a Manufacturing Engineer with littleBits Electronics, an education technology company with a mission to empower kids to invent and become changemakers.  He specializes in New Product Introduction, which is the transition of concepts and designs we develop to the detailed processes of mass production.  Before littleBits, Dennis was a Mechanical Engineer with the US Department of Defense in a similar manufacturing role.  As a student, he was Co-Captain of the Men’s Volleyball Team, coordinated several CU Athletics events, and was a 4-year elected representative on the Engineering Student Council. Dennis served as a Nightly Co-Chair for the 2010 Phonathon, co-chaired the 2010 Art Auction & Casino Night, and served with the Events Committee and Founder’s Day 2014 Planning Committee. He is a Class Rep for the Cooper Union Engineering Class of 2018.
