Email – Database
The information for all Alumni is in a spreadsheet shared by a few ExCom and ComCom members and is separate from MailChimp, SurveyMonkey, Google Business, and the cooperalumni.org website. Unfortunately for now, there is duplicate information that requires synchronization, and there is no automated facility to do so. This will have to be rectified. This data is not public and if you have need to access information in it as a Council Member or committee member, CONTACT US.
Email – Google Business / Gmail
The contact@cooperalumni.org and paypal@cooperalumni.org run under a paid Google Business account. Access to the accounts themselves are limited to a few ExCom and ComCom members. For information on how to manage these accounts, READ MORE.
Email – MailChimp
This is the mailing program that we use to send out contact@cooperalumni.org emails. For small accounts you may make your own for free, but over a few hundred recipients, it requires a paid account. The central mail facility for sending contact@cooperalumni.org emails is via one of these paid accounts, and is shared among a couple ExCom and ComCom members.
For instructions on how to create emailing campaigns and send to lists on MailChimp, READ MORE.

WiFi & Internet Access at Cooper
For WiFi, connect to cooper-g, cooper-a, or cooper2. You will need two passwords to access. One is universal and you must ask for it. The second requires you to surf anywhere on a browser, whereupon you will be redirected to an ARUBA site. Once there, you must either have a cooper.edu email address (in which case it’s your email password), or you must have a temporary password given by A/V.
To get a one-time temporary username and password, ask at least a day in advance by emailing wifi-request@cooper.edu with how many people will access it and what days and times. This is not useful for over a dozen people, as the WiFi is not meant to handle large audiences at once, like for large events. However, for a committee meeting, it is the correct place to go.
For ethernet access, you need to plug into the ethernet sockets in the walls at the school. Typically only one works per room, and it’s the top one. If it’s a classroom with a teacher’s desk, there is often an ethernet hub that you can plug into in the cabinet. However, in order to make use of it, you must set your IP correctly, and it depends on what building and room you are in. READ MORE
WordPress – cooperalumni.org
This present runs the Wordpress engine. There are a number of Administrators, Editors, Authors, and Contributors, according to the usual setup. Generally, committee members are the ones with the elevated access, such as Events Committee being able to create and edit events, and Communications Committee being able to create and edit pages and posts.
