Are You Registered to Vote? Are your Alumni Friends?
The 2024 spring election is underway and will run until midnight (ET) on April 30, 2024. Alumni who are registered should have received ballots via email. If you need to register or update your email address, you can still do so here: Register. If you registered but did not receive a ballot, please send an email to: cuaaelections@cooperalumni.org including your name, school and graduation year, and current email address, so a ballot can be sent to you.
2024 Meet the Candidate Night
The Meet the Candidates Night for the 2024 Council Election was held March 12, 2024, in the Rose Auditorium. The entire Meet the Candidates Night was recorded. Elections Chairman Douglas Sharrott (EE ’83) moderated the event. Candidates for Alumni Trustee, Avery K. Singer (A ’10) and Anna Brook (BSE ’04), spoke first. They were followed by candidates for Secretary, Treasurer, Vice President Faculty/Student Liaison, and Vice President Alumni Activities. 2024 Founders Day and CUAA Award Ceremony
The 2024 Founder’s Day CUAA Award was held on February 8, 2024 in the Rose Auditorium. Opening Remarks were made by CU President, Laura Sparks and Award Committee Chair, Carol Wolf A’84. The annual event honors alumni excelling in the fields of art, architecture, engineering, and service to the public and the CUAA. This year’s honorees included Barry Rosenbaum ChE’63; Catherine Seavitt Nordenson AR’94; Ann Agee A’81; Shigeru Ban AR’84; Dean Maltz AR’84; Laura Spinner A’90; and Standish Lee AR’11.
Historic Documents Reception
On Thursday, January 25, 2024, an exhibition of the recently acquired Cooper, Hewitt & Company collection opened in the Cooper Union Library. The collection was acquired in 2023 with the help of an assortment of alumni and professors.
