Historic Election is being held for two additional Alumni TrusteesThe agreement negotiated by the NYS Attorney General stipulates more representation by Alumni on The Cooper Board of Trustees. The CUAA Special election runs through November 17, 2015. 25 alumni are running in this election. Two Alumni Trustees will be elected during this election. Each will serve 4 year terms. One will join the B.O.T. in December 2015 and the other will join the B.O.T. in June of 2016. A Meet The Candidate Night is being planned for early November. CUHP Helps Archive Purchase Cooper Family LettersThe Cooper Union History Project (CUHP) rallied a group of Cooper Union historians, CUAA Council members, and out-of-state CUAA members to raise the money needed by the Cooper Archive to purchase a collection of some 340 original documents written by and to Peter Cooper’s parents, grandparents, siblings, and other relatives. Cooper Union Library Archivists Carol Salomon and Katie Blumenkrantz verified the authenticity and provenance of the documents. These documents are now part of the Cooper Union Library Archives. |
