Annual Fund
Fundraising for the 2017 Annual Fund is underway. The 2016 fiscal year and Annual Fund drive ended on June 30, 2016. Last year, alumni participation surged 20% from the previous year, with total alumni giving to the Annual Fund at $1,735,808. Thank you to everyone who donated. The 2017 Fiscal year began on July 1, 2016. A mini two day Phon-a-thon was held On October 26 and 27, 2016.

Each Fall the CUAA collects nominations for the Gano Dunn, Augustus Saint-Gaudens, John Q Hejduk and Peter Cooper Service Awards. Any member of the Cooper Union Community can make a nomination by completing the nomination form and submitting it to Contact@cooperalumni.org

Detroit Alumni Event Alumni from the Detroit region came together on 10/1/16.
CU @ Wall Street Group had a Fall Social at Cooper’s Craft & Kitchen on 10/6/16. 40 people attended. Learn More
Mock Interview Night
Mock Interview Night was a great Success. 72 interviews were conducted on 10/12/16 at 30 Cooper square. The Interviewers included 18 alumni and 1 parent. This was the first year that the event was extended to include alumni and students from all 3 schools. Learn More.

CU @ Grand Central
On Sunday, October 16, 2016, an Group of alumni took a unique tour of The Grand Central Station that allowed them to see and appreciate many of the terminals unique features. the tour was given by Curtis B. Wayne AR’75.
Archtober and Open House New York
New York City has been celebrating architects and architecture throughout the month of October in a series of lectures and tours organized by NY-AIA. The Irwin S. Chanin School of Architecture is one of the sponsors for Archtober. On October 15 and 16, 2016, several spaces that are not usually open to the public were made accessible as part of Open House New York, sponsored by the Nonprofit organization with the same name. Alumni Ambassadors
The fall college fair season is underway and in full swing. Staff from the Office of Admissions attend college fairs to meet with prospective students and their families. These events are effective in providing information to prospective students about Cooper Union regarding the application process, life at Cooper Union etc. Schedules permitting, Cooper Union Alumni Ambassadors volunteer to attend these events alongside a member of the Office of Admissions. We are always seeking to hear from those interested assisting with recruitment events. If you are interested in learning more about the Alumni Ambassador Program, send an email to admissions@cooper.edu.
Cooper Union will be attending college fairs in the spring so it’s not too late to join us for this academic year.

John A. Alcorn Art ’55
John A. Alcorn Art’55 was a commercial artist and designer, and an illustrator of children’s books. He studied graphic arts for three years at Cooper Union. He worked for Forbes Magazine and for Push Pin Studio.

Cooper Motorsports Update
The Cooper Motorsports Team began the new school year by participating in the New Student Orientation and the Peter Cooper Block Party on September 3, 2016. They hosted a reception for Cooper Alumni on 9/28/16. Learn More
Steel Bridge Team
Civil Engineering students are participating in the Steel Bridge building competition sponsored each year by the ASCE and the American Steel Institute. Every year, the design rules are different and the students build a new bridge. The bridge is modular and can be put together in just a few minutes. Last year the team won the 2016 regional competition and placed second in the national competition. To keep the project on schedule, they need to raise the majority of their funding by December 1st.
