Meredith Bergmann A’77 chosen to create Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Susan B. Anthony Woman Suffrage Movement Monument
Meredith Bergmann A 77’s design was chosen for the Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Susan B. Anthony Woman Suffrage Movement Monument. These will be the first statues of real women to be located in New York City’s Central Park. There were 90 submissions for the historic project. Currently Central Park as 22 monuments depicting men and only one depicting a woman, (Alice in Wonderland). A model of the sculpture will be on view at The New York Historical Society until the end of July.
Meredith has been given two years to complete the work. You are invited to be present August 26th, 2020, when the monument will be unveiled on the Literary Walk on the Mall in Central Park in 2020!
