Register to Vote in the 2025 Spring Election
CUAA elections are done electronically. We must have your current email address to send you an electronic ballot. If you are new to the CUAA or if you have recently changed your email address, please send an email to cuaaelections@cooperalumni.org with your name, school, and year of graduation to ensure timely receipt of the electronic ballot.
Also, if you have not already registered on the Cooperalumni.org website, do so at cooperalumni.org/Register. If your email has changed, please update your profile on the website to include your new email address. Login to the website and select Update from the menu or use this link.
The Election will begin the evening of March 12th, following the Meet The Candidate event.

History of the Cooper Union Hall of Fame
The creation of the Cooper Union Hall of Fame was announced in 2008 and the first Hall of Fame Celebration was held in 2009. The Hall of Fame rollout coincided with the 150th anniversary of the Cooper Union. Learn more about the history of the Hall of Fame. Link
Cooper Together Celebrations will be happening in February at many locations.

Alumni News
- An exhibition, ongoing at the Fish House, Paul Gardère: Vantage Points, celebrates the life and work of the late Haitian, New York City-based artist Paul Gardère A’67. This exhibit will be on view until June 6, 2025 on Thursday and Friday afternoons and at other times by appointment. Learn More
- The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) will present the first comprehensive Jack Whitten A’64 retrospective. The exhibition, titled “Jack Whitten: The Messenger,” will run from March 23 to August 2, 2025, and span the late American artist’s nearly six-decade career. Organized by Michelle Kuo, MoMA chief curator at large, along with curatorial assistant Helena Klevorn, the retrospective will feature over 175 works. Whitten passed away in 2018 at the age of 78. - CU Hall of Fame member Bill Morrison, was nominated for a 2025 Academy Award in the Director category for his 2023 film, Incident. Morrison returned to Cooper in September 2024 for a screening of the film Incident. Learn More
- Former CUAA Council Member, Dr. George DeFeis CE’82 has received a Fulbright Award to teach in Tunis. Learn More

School News
The Lines and Shadows Drawing Club

The CU has a drawing club called “Fine Lines and Shadows.” It meets on Fridays from 5 to 8 PM while school is in session. A model, materials, and food are supplied. Occasionally the group meets off-site. The “Field Trips” are included on the club schedule. Alumni are welcome, but must register. The Diane Lewis Student Lecture Series: John Chunhan Lin AR’02: Rural Urban Framework
Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at 2 PM. This event will be conducted in-person in room 315F and through Zoom. Registration is Required.
Albert Nerken School of Engineering
Dean Barry Shoop and Assistant Dean Lisa Shay share updates from the Engineering School and introduce us to new faculty members in Engineering News. This Engineering News site includes updates on a large number of faculty and student projects.
CU Motorsports

The Cooper Union Motorsports team is building and competing with its second Electrical Vehicle (EV). It is looking forward to entering the car in the annual FSAE competition to be held in June, 2025 at the Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn Michigan.
