Are You Registered to Vote? Are your Alumni Friends?

The 2023 spring election is underway and will run until midnight on April 30, 2023.   Alumni who are registered should have received ballots via e-mail. If you need to register or update your email address, you can still do so here: Register. If you registered but did not receive a ballot, please send an email to: cuaaelections@cooperalumni.org including your name, school and graduation year, and current email address, so a ballot can be sent to you.


2023 Meet the Candidate Night

Meet the Candidates Night for the 2023 CUAA elections was held March 15, 2023 in the Rose Auditorium.  The entire Meet the Candidates Night was recorded. The officer candidates were present in person or via zoom and were interviewed by the event MC, Doug Sharrott EE’83. Most of the Council and Nominating Committee members were also present and had a chance to briefly introduce themselves. A recap of the event and a link to the video are available here.

Join your fellow Cooper alumni on June 2-3 for a Reunion celebration in New York City! Alumni and their families and friends come back to campus to relive memories, share stories with generations of fellow alums and commemorate their time at The Cooper Union. Multiple events are planned.

Reynold Ruffins

Ongoing — A Life in Art Entwined: Works by Joan and Reynold Ruffins A’51

 Reynold Ruffins is a membor of the CU Hall of Fame. Both Joan and Reynold are CU Art alumni. The Exhibition is in the Stuyvesant-Fish House and is available for viewing by request. The exhibition was organized by Adriana Farmiga A’96, associate dean and adjunct professor in the School of Art, and Yuri Masnyj A’98, adjunct professor in the School of Art. Ongoing — “Lois Dodd: Natural Order” A major retrospective exhibit showing 77 works by Lois Dodd A’48.

Lois Dodd is a member of the CU Hall of Fame. This exhibition opened on April 2nd, along with the Bruce Musuem’s new $67 million wing. It runs through May 28 in Greenwich, CT. This major show includes works from all 7 decades that Lois has been painting. Some of the paintings in the exhibit along with pictures of Lois in her Manhattan Studio can be seen here. The 2023 Founder’s Day CUAA Award was held on February 9, 2023 in the Rose Auditorium. Opening Remarks were made by CU President, Laura Sparks. Laura was followed by Ciera Lowe Fowler ChE’14, who serves as the Chair of the Awards Committee and the event MC.
