2025 Meet the Candidate Night

The Meet the Candidates Night for the 2025 Council Election was held March 12, 2025, in Room 201 of the New Academic Building.  The entire Meet the Candidates Night was recorded. Elections Chairman Douglas Sharrott (EE ’83) moderated the event.  Candidates for Alumni Trustee, spoke first.  They were followed by candidates for President, Secretary, Treasurer, Vice President Faculty/Student Liaison, and Vice President Alumni Activities.  Candidates for Council and Nominating Committee who were in attendance, live or virtually, introduced themselves and gave their personal statements.  Learn More

In Memoriam

Robin Marsha Orans, ME71, passed away at age 75 in September 2024. She made her mark at NASA Ames Research Center, Mountain View, CA from July 1988 – June 2015 where she was 1) Unitary Plan Wind Tunnel Test Support Coordinator for the Aerodynamics Facilities Branch, 2) Experimental Facilities Techniques COTR for the Support Service Contract for Operation, 3) Technology Partnership Manager – Project Manager for NASA-wide intellectual property management system and technology transfer, and Technology Awards officer. Bruce C. Alexander of Ghent, New York, passed away on January 24, 2025 at the age of 75. He had a long and successful career as a Professional Engineer at the MTA – NYC Transit System from 1971 until his retirement in Dec. 2022. He worked his way up to Senior Director of Strategic Innovation and Technology. He had been Director of Engineering, Railcar Systems, Division of Car Equipment, Dept of Subways. His many accomplishments included the elimination of most subway door malfunctions, many stuck brakes, several subway car fires, some HVAC issues, and some fail-safe switches. Learn More
Donald M. Forst, of Highlands Ranch, Colorado died April 9th, 2025. Donald Forst AR’58 was an architect who practiced for 40 years in NYC and on Long Island. After retiring he traveled extensively, painted during his travels, and wrote novels. Learn More
