Running for: Council and Nominating Committee

Campaign Statement

Cooper Union will always have a special place in my heart. I am forever grateful for the education I received and the wonderful experiences and connections I made with some of the most talented, smart, kind and caring individuals.  If I can in any small way help use my skills to help Cooper Union to continue to provide opportunities to enrich the lives of the next generation and help on their path to great accomplishments and the achievement of their goals, am happy to do so. I’ve participated in Mock Interview Night and most recently on the CUAA Gano Dunn Award Committee.  I am interested in joining the CUAA and to continue to help in whatever capacity that I may be of assistance to aid in sustaining The Cooper Union and in bringing together and giving back to those in our unique and great community.  One is known by the company they keep and to me there is no better company then my fellow alumni.

Patricia Reddington graduated from The Cooper Union with a degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1991 and started her career working in the energy conservation field.  In 1993, she joined the staff of ASME and worked her way up from an Engineering Administrator position to her current position as the Director of ASME Safety Codes and Standards. In this position, Ms. Reddington manages all activities associated with ASME Safety Codes and Standards in the development and maintenance of consensus standards serving industries such as elevators, escalators, and cranes. Her responsibilities include managing a staff of five employees to support over 700 industry and government stakeholders. She also has administered numerous U.S. Technical Advisory Groups for ISO technical committees and served for over a decade as Secretariat for ISO/TC5 SC10 on metallic flanges and fittings.

While working at ASME, Ms. Reddington attended Fordham Gabelli School of Business at night and graduated there in 2005 with a Master of Business Administration in the field of Finance with a minor in Marketing.
