Running For: Secretary, Nominating Committee

Andrew Keene, CE’17

Campaign Statement

Coaching the Cooper Union soccer team for the past three years has been a wonderful way to connect with students and alumni; it shows me the vibrancy of the Cooper community and has reinforced how vital of an institution The Cooper Union is. I am running for the Nominating Committee and Secretary to work with the Alumni Association in its mission of supporting The Cooper Union’s return to free efforts, to promote and contribute to an active and engaged community of students, alumni, faculty and friends of The Cooper Union, and to encourage others to participate in and invigorate this important community that so many have benefited immensely from.

Andrew graduated from The Cooper Union in 2017 with a Bachelor of Engineering in civil engineering and in 2019 with a Master of Engineering in structural engineering. Andrew is a structural engineer in AECOM’s Buildings+Places group, where he is currently working with MTA Construction & Development on accessibility upgrades.

Previously, Andrew worked as a senior structural engineer at Guy Nordenson and Associates where selected projects include the Nancy and Rich Kinder Building at the Museum of Fine Arts Houston in Houston TX, the Moody Amphitheater at Waterloo Park in Austin TX, and David Hammons’s ‘Day’s End’ in New York NY.

Andrew is a CUAA Alumni Council Member, Head Coach of the Cooper Union soccer team and a licensed professional engineer in the state of New York.
