Running For: Nominating Committee

Shiori Taylor Sasaki AR’14

Campaign Statement

I am passionate about helping Cooper Union return to providing free tuition and continuing to build a strong, connected alumni community. As a member of the CUAA Nominating Committee, I would be honored to contribute my skills and experience to help harness the passion and vision of the greater Cooper Alumni community. To ensure the committee’s success, it is crucial to identify individuals whose experience, skills, and values complement and enhance the existing council membership. I believe in taking a strategic approach to nominations, focusing on filling organizational capability gaps, and on increasing diversity and representation from all three schools. Throughout my career, I have supported both public and private sector organizations in defining strategy and in achieving their governance and transformation goals. Diversity and representation are essential for setting strategy and for effective decision-making. By bringing together individuals from different backgrounds and perspectives, we can ensure a more inclusive and comprehensive approach to addressing the challenges and opportunities facing the alumni community. In summary, I am committed to advancing Cooper’s mission and believe that my cross-functional/cross-industry experience and skills combined with my dedication make me a strong candidate for CUAA’s Nominating Committee. I am excited about the opportunity to work alongside fellow alumni in helping ensure a bright future for Cooper.
