Personal Statement and Biography
Ms. Dorina Aliu currently serves as Acting Supervisor of the Drinking Water and Municipal Infrastructure Branch in U.S. EPA Region 2 where she leads an interdisciplinary team and is responsible for overseeing state revolving fund programs, primacy agency implementation of the Safe Drinking Water Act, and the region’s Underground Injection Control Program. Ms. Aliu plays a vital role in safeguarding drinking water and awarding critical water infrastructure funding in New Jersey, New York, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Before joining the U.S. EPA, Ms. Aliu provided multifaceted environmental engineering services to private and public sector clients in the real estate development, construction, and engineering industries both nationally and internationally. She has held several roles with increasing environmental project management responsibility at organizations ranging from a 10-person startup to a 14,000-employee company.
Ms. Aliu holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Chemical Engineering from The Cooper Union Albert Nerken School of Engineering and is a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of New York.
